A Chain of Circumstance
…Nagle’s canvases, searching their way up, down and across the walls and floor of the gallery, articulate a different way of being in the world. They present a chain of circumstance – of contingencies – in which our own agency can act and play, following its own trajectories, and making a virtue of the provisional. Here, mindful, embodied thought and action can allow us to shape meaningful forms of life outside the dialectics, modern or ancient, of matter and the absolute.
